starting an apprentiship

hey my name is rachel, im 19 and ive always wanted to tattoo ever since i was 11, i studyed art and design and fine art for three years at college and am looking to start an apprentiship.
i live in hertfordshire, there are quite alot of tattoo studios round here but i need some advise on what i should look out for.
