Rose Heart Tattoos

Last updated on March 23, 2018 By David Leave a Comment

A tattoo of a rose and/or a heart is a very popular and attractive design. They can be worn just about anywhere, but are commonly tattooed as armbands, lower back, upper back, on ankles, or shoulders.
The heart is familiar to everyone as a symbol representing romantic love or affection. Furthermore, the heart has been used as a symbol to refer to the emotional, spiritual, and moral attributes of human beings. A tattoo of a red heart is said to represent blood or passion and strong emotion. A red rose is often paired up with a heart as a universal symbol of love. Some people like to have a tattoo of a rose and heart with a name of a person very special and dear to them.

The color of a rose can have a significant meaning. Of course, the symbolic references of colors are considered entertainment and don’t have to justify the color you desire. It’s perfectly fine if you pick a particular color that you like. There are no strict rules in getting a tattoo that is the ultimate expression of you.

Some rose color symbolization are:

  • Black rose— death
  • Orange rose— enthusiasm, excitement, and desire
  • Pink rose—happiness and grace
  • Dark pink rose—gratitude and appreciation
  • Light pink rose—admiration and sympathy
  • Red rose– love, respect, passion, and courage
  • White rose– innocence, purity, charm, youth, and reverence
  • Yellow rose—friendship and joy
  • Peach rose—modesty and friendship
  • Purple rose—enchantment

You don’t need to stick with just one color. Multiple colors of a rose tattoo are captivating and pleasing to the eye. They can be a mixed bouquet of blooms or a blend of colors for one rose.

Some common mixed color meanings are:

  • White and red rose—unity
  • Pink and white rose—I will always love you
  • Red and yellow rose— congratulations and happiness
  • Yellow and orange rose—passion

There are countless ways to have a rose design tattooed on your body. Two roses wired together to form a single stem signifies an engagement or coming marriage. A rose without thorns represent love at first sight or attachment. A thorny rose can symbolize darkness or add a gothic twist to your tattoo. A thorny rose is also a reminder that love is not without risk. A bouquet of roses in full bloom represents gratitude. A single rose in full bloom signifies love and simplicity. Adding leaves to the stem of your rose tattoo symbolizes hope. A crown made of roses can symbolize virtue or reward.
